Rebecca Brightly teaches group swing dance classes and private lessons in Durham and the Triangle area, North Carolina. If you've got the dance itch, the doctor is IN.

Bio:

I quietly began my swing dance obsession three years ago and haven't taken more than a few days off since. I've travelled up and down the east coast for workshops, camps, and exchanges with many of the big name instructors in lindy hop. For the past two years, I've taught workshops, private lessons, and group classes for Ninth Street Dance, Legacy Studios, UNC Swing Club, and lots of friends.

Most recently I won 1st place in the Jack & Jill at Lindy Focus VI in Asheville, and 2nd in the Solo Charleston contest at the Sugar Foot Stomp in Asheville. You can check out the second half of my teams' routine at the Harvest Moon Melee on Youtube.

In addition, I have taken ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, yoga, pilates, and Feldenkrais. My study of movement has been hugely augmented by my anatomy and kinesiogy training as a massage student, as well as by my weekly solo practice. You can find me dancing most Wednesdays at Stomp House in Raleigh. I hope to always be taking chances and learning on the dance floor.
