» Beginner Swing 1: Charleston!

Geared towards pure beginners, the focus of this class is for you to have fun and build confidence while learning what you need to know to get out on the dance floor ASAP. Remember those flappers from the 20's? Charleston is THE dance to learn if you are new to swing. The fun factor is extremely high compared to other beginner swing dances, though it is no more difficult. It also looks really cool!

When: Sundays at 2pm, July 20-Aug 10 (4 weeks)
Cost: $11/class or $37 for the series
Please bring dance shoes or plan to dance in socks.

At Loafers Beach Club, 3914 Atlantic Ave, Raleigh NC
When: Thursdays 7:15pm to 8:30pm, June 19-July 10 (4 weeks)
Cost: $12 for 45min series class ($14 for non-members), $9 for the 30min beginner lesson, $15 for both (all prices include cover for the dance afterwards)

» Beginning Lindy Hop

Lindy hop is not as hard as you think. You'll learn several easy Charleston transition steps which will very quickly turn into the lindy hop you've been daydreaming about. We'll also continue working with Charleston, which will give you things to play with when you're not doing lindy.

Who: Anyone who knows either: (a) east coast with triple steps, (b) basic Charleston, OR (c) some lindy hop and is looking for a fresh perspective

» Partnered Charleston, level 1c

You've seen tandem and traveling and all kinds of variations, but HOW DO THEY MAKE IT WORK SO WELL?? Come find out secrets you won't hear anywhere else. Make your Charleston shine! People will ask you how you figured it out, but you'll just smile and wink.

Who: Those with about 2 months Charleston experience may join us or drop in at any time.
When: Sundays, 3-4pm, June 15 - July 13 (NO CLASS JULY 6)

Private Lessons

Currently available evenings during the week and some Saturdays. I charge $45 per hour and offer bulk and student discounts (please inquire!). My bright and open practice space has mirrors and a hardwood floor. Located two miles from I-40, exit 187 (Harrison Ave) in Cary.
